Godwit Days - North Coast Bird Migration Festival

GODWIT DAYS SPRING MIGRATION BIRD FESTIVAL   P.O. BOX 4978 ARCATA, CA 95518

Dear Community Member,

Localism is the buzzword these days. We are encouraged to shop local, eat within our bioregion, and even limit our carbon footprint by traveling local. Godwit Days Spring Migration Bird Festival, held here in Humboldt County started this trend, 15 years ago.

I am writing to ask for your help in keeping this annual event going strong. Generous donations from local businesses, individuals, and community organizations have helped us reach our twin goals of promoting ecotourism and educating people about habitat conservation and ecology.
The benefits of sponsorship.  I want to donate now.

Your sponsorship will reach:

  • Over 2000 people who stop by the Arcata Community Center, Godwit Days Event Central.

  • Encourage the people to stay a few more days and come back for another visit. Our exit surveys reveal that travelers spend an average of $150 for lodging and over $500 during on food and merchandise.

  • Additionally, Godwit Days provides and environmental educational experience for local residents through the many free festival events. And we reach a diverse group of people as more than 350 Humboldt County children enter the Student Bird Art Contest each year.

Included with this letter is detailed sponsorship and festival information. Jennifer Tompkins, our Sponsor Coordinator, will contact you in a few days to see how you can help.

On behalf of the Godwit Days Board of Directors, thank you.

Sincerely,
