Free Guided Nature Walks.Local volunteer organizations provide docents knowledgeable about birds and botany, as well as the natural and cultural history of the area, to lead tours of the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary. No reservations are necessary for the following, which take place rain or shine: |

Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM). Every Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., guided tours, with topics chosen by participants (e.g. birds, history, ecology), depart from the Interpretive Center (see above). A tour of Arcata's renowned wastewater treatment plant is held the fourth Saturday of each month. With two weeks notice, FOAM provides special guided tours for school and community groups.
