Officers:

Chair: Alex Stillman, Arcata City Mayor, Council member & Arcata businesswoman; also serves as board member for the Headwaters Fund and Arcata Historical Sites Society and member of City of Arcata’s Economic Development Committee.

Secretary: Mary Severdia, finance clerk for the City of Arcata, has been involved with Godwit Days from the very first year. She currently serves as a board member for the North Coast Repertory Theatre, and is a former board member of the Humboldt Kinetic Association and Friends of the Arcata Marsh.

Treasurer: Elyse Kelly, rural carrier associate, former treasurer for the Humboldt Botanical Gardens Foundation, and former RRAS field trip coordinator.

Directors:

Gary Bloomfield, wildlife artist, owner of Bloomfield Studio, and former board member for Redwood Region Audubon Society

Tom Clapp, owner of Rookery Books and former president of Arcata Main Street

Rob Hewitt, owner of LBJ Enterprises, Godwit Days founder and representative to Nature Festival Coordinators Group.

Gretchen O’Brien, private consulting wildlife biologist, and has helped coordinate Godwit Days since 2000.

C. John Ralph, research scientist at the U.S. Forest Service’s Redwood Sciences Laboratory; also serves as board member for Redwood Region Audubon Society and Northcoast Environmental Center.

Amy Fetz, Board member since 2006, Godwit Days registrar and volunteer coordinator. She also owns a small business offering office support and event coordination to local businesses.

David Schumaker, A new board member in 2008, Dave recently retired from Superintendent of Schools in Hayfork and moved to Humboldt. He taught High School Biology for over 21 years and was an assistant to Dr W. J. Hamilton on bird migration research at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. He is also a photographer and editor of the Redwood Region Audubon Society newsletter, The Sandpiper.
